Indianapolis-based artist Benjamin Berg talks with Jim Walker about the glitch-based audio and visual work Berg shares in his exhibition, “I Can See the Pixels,” on view now through Feb. 23 at Tube Factory artspace. Berg — who will perform live in the gallery on the evening of Feb. 7 — explains how he uses (or misuses) GIFs embraces pixelation, glitches, and technological errors as creative tools. His work highlights how pushing for misbehavior within digital media can reveal unexpected beauty and challenge underlying assumptions about perfection in technology. Throughout the conversation, Berg reflects on his artistic process, the balance between control and randomness, and how audiences can engage with the imperfections embedded in his art.
